Prateek Chauhan. Raipur police has arrested Dharmendra Soni while taking major action against illegal gas cylinder storage. Illegal storage of commercial gas cylinders was found in a plot and four wheelers in Govardhan Nagar of Khamtarai police station area. In this action, the police seized 209 gas cylinders and a vehicle, whose total price has been estimated at around Rs 7.5 lakh.
The police had received information on 20 April 2025 through the Anti Crime and Cyber Unit that a person in Govardhan Nagar was illegally storing gas cylinders. On the instructions of senior officials, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Khamtarai police station raided. Dharmendra Soni (35 years, resident Gudiyari, Raipur) was arrested on the occasion, which stored cylinders in a small elephant vehicle (serial number CG 04 My 6534).
Dharmendra Soni could not submit any valid documents during interrogation. Police seized 209 commercial cylinders of Purti Gas, CG Gas, Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, HP Gas, Go Gas, and Blue Gas companies from his possession. Along with this, the said vehicle was also seized. A case has been registered against the accused under crime number 367/25, Section 3, 7 Essential Commodities Act 1955 in Khamtarai police station.

Sandeep Singh, Virendra Bahadur Singh, Avinash Dewangan, Himanshu Rathore, Avinash Tandon, and Sub Inspector Prahlad Rathore from Khamtarai police station contributed significantly.
