Raipur: Matikala utensils will now be available online

Construction of pottery happening in Telikhaar to promote Matikala

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, under the guidance of Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar, pottery of Chhattisgarh Matikala Board will now be available in online websites like Amazon and Flipkart. In accordance with the intention of the state government, setting up of a glazing unit has been done at village Telikechhar in Surajpur district. Where efforts are being made to connect the people of the potters with self-employment and to make them self-reliant. Along with this, every effort is being made for clean Surajpur ‘Hamar Mati-Hamar Sughar Surajpur’ using the utensils made of clay with the concept of polythene free district.

    Surajpur District Collector Shri Ranbir Sharma today appreciated the works of the artisans by encouraging the inspection of the Matikala Center at Telikchhar. It is noteworthy that pottery is being prepared by setting up the second glazing unit of the state in Telaikhar. Here the plate, glass, bowl, spoon, water bottle, ax, Other household utensils including tea-kettle are being manufactured. Due to which environmental protection is getting self-employment to the local people. Collector Shri Sharma observed the procedures of the methods produced during the inspection. He asked the artisans to make quality attractive materials keeping in mind the current environment, which would lead to higher sales tax. He called for wide publicity of the products of Matikala center through hoardings and banners, so that people are attracted and use maximum amount of Matikala items. Mr. Sharma has instructed the officials to sell Matikala utensils in online websites like Amazon and Flipkart to increase demand for Surajpur’s pottery at local level as well as globally. Others, including administrative officials and officials and employees of Matikala were present on the occasion.
