Shri Teka said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has presented a vision of a developed India by 2047, and we all have to work continuously to achieve it. Currently, we are producing about 1000 million tonnes of food, including all types of food, grains, oilseeds, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat, and fish. This will have to be increased to 1500 million tonnes by 2047. This is a challenging task. Changing weather and market fluctuations have increased the risks in agriculture. Shri Teka urged the university’s scientists to develop technology that reduces farmers’ costs and increases their income. We need to pay special attention to natural farming and the production of pulses and oilseeds. He said that 45 percent of our country’s total workforce is still engaged in agriculture, and it is the responsibility of all of us to improve the livelihood of this workforce. Develop small agricultural implements that require less energy, reducing costs in agriculture, human labor, and especially women’s efforts. Retaining people in the field of agriculture is a major challenge today. Making agricultural work easier and increasing their income should be our main objective.
