Today, the BJP is going to launch Jail Bharo agitation on charges of chaos in the Paddy Procurement Center, while the four senior ministers of the Congress Government will present the government’s favor on the issue of paddy procurement at 1.30 pm.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat, Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahria and Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar will present the government’s side in the press conference. These four ministers will talk about over-procurement of paddy, solution to gunny problems. There will also be talk of agitating after selling paddy at the minimum support price of the state BJP leaders.
There is still another 10 days to buy paddy. So far, 19 lakh 54 thousand 332 farmers of the state have sold paddy at the support price. For custom milling, a DO of 27 lakh 70 thousand 693 metric tonnes of paddy has been issued to the millers, against which 25 lakh 45 thousand 512 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted so far.
