Raipur. The silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh Assembly were organized in the dignified presence of President Draupadi Murmu. On this historic occasion, all the MLAs including Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant were present. During the program, President Murmu started his address with a sentence “Chhattisgarh Sabale Great”, which resonated with applause. He appreciated the people of Chhattisgarh and the rich culture here and expressed happiness over becoming a part of this occasion.
Addressed MLAs, told discipline
The President said that serving the public as an MLA is a good fortune. He praised the discipline of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and said that “Marshal was never used here, which is an example for other assemblies”. He also mentioned the rule that provides for automatic suspension on entering the well of members.
Emphasis on women empowerment and voter awareness
President Murmu expressed happiness over the number of women voters in Chhattisgarh to exceed men and said that this state is moving forward in the field of women empowerment. Addressing women MLAs, he said, “You should come forward to increase female representation and make policies in the interest of women.”

Talking about Chhattisgarh’s natural assets and the possibilities of industrial development, the President said that the state is rich in cement, minerals and natural resources. He emphasized that along with development, it is also necessary to maintain environmental balance.
He said about Naxalism – the fight has now reached the decisive phase
The President also expressed his opinion on the problem of Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. He said, “I have been informed that this fight has now reached the decisive phase. People of Naxalite affected districts want to move forward with development, and soon the problem will end.”
Referred to cultural relations between Chhattisgarh and Odisha
In his address, President Murmu also spoke of the historical and cultural relations of Chhattisgarh and Odisha. He said, “We consider Raipur as a part of Odisha. Lord Jagannath is not only the God of Odisha but of all. I have a special relationship with Chhattisgarh.”
President wishes for the golden future of Chhattisgarh
Finally, President Murmu wished the bright future of the people of Chhattisgarh, saying, “I have come to Chhattisgarh 5 to 10 times so far and I have a deep attachment to this state. We are all one, India is all. Jai Bharat, Jai Chhattisgarh!”
