Prayas Vidyalaya is fulfilling the dream of tribal children to study in IIT, 32 students qualified JEE Advanced

Prayas Vidyalaya of the capital Raipur is giving tough competition to renowned coaching institutes. 32 children studying in Class 12 here have qualified JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Advanced and have become eligible for admission in various IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and equivalent national institutes of the country. Most of the students getting admission in the country’s top technical institutes (IITs and equivalent) have one or two years of preparation after Class 12. But 32 children of Prayas Vidyalaya have achieved their goal of getting admission in the country’s best and prestigious technical institutes along with their Class 12 studies. Lakhs of children from across the country appear in the tough competitive exam of JEE held at the national level.

Kuldeep Kumar secured 459 rank in the All India category

In the recently declared JEE Advanced results on 9th June, Kuldeep Kumar of Raipur Prayas Vidyalaya has secured All India Category Rank 459. Omprakash Netam has got All India Category Rank 473 and Rudraksh Bhagat has got All India Category Rank 825. These three children come from poor tribal families of remote Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki, Kondagaon and Surguja of the state. Their co-study Trilok Paikra has secured All India Category Rank 1123, Liladhar Thakur has secured 1174, Pankaj Raote has secured 1592, Gaindlal has secured 1638, Adarsh ​​Raj Paikra has secured 1661 and Shubham Kashyap has secured 1801 All India Category Rank. All these are also children of families with weak economic status of remote notified development blocks of the state. Under the able guidance of the teachers of Prayas Vidyalaya, these children have taken a big step towards fulfilling their dreams with their hard work and talent.

51 students got admission in IIT in five years

Along with providing education from class IX to XII, Prayas Vidyalaya of Raipur is fulfilling the dream of promising tribal children to study in IIT, NIT and equivalent best technical institutes. Last April, 64 children from here qualified JEE Mains and became eligible for JEE Advanced, out of which 32 children have now qualified JEE Advanced as well. While children qualifying JEE Advanced will be able to get admission in various IITs and equivalent institutes of the country, children qualifying JEE Mains will fulfill their dream of studying in NIT (National Institute of Technology) and equivalent institutes. In the last five years, 51 students of Prayas Vidyalaya Raipur have got admission in various IITs of the country by qualifying the tough competitive examination of JEE held at the national level. Whereas 94 children have been selected in National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

700 children are studying in Saddu Prayas Vidyalaya

Children from the forest areas and remote notified areas of the state are studying in Prayas Vidyalaya located in Saddu, Raipur. About 700 children are studying here from class IX to XII. In the academic session 2023-24, 166 students were studying with Mathematics (PCM) as a subject. Manjula Tiwari, Principal of Prayas Vidyalaya, says that the children of class XI and XII are taught here with a view to prepare for board examinations as well as competitive examinations like JEE. Due to both types of studies in the school itself, children perform well in board examinations as well as competitive examinations. She told that their problems related to studies are resolved by dividing them into different groups according to their intellectual level and performance in the class. Along with institutions like IIT and NIT, many children of Prayas Vidyalaya are also selected in other engineering colleges every year.
