A total of 1056 kilometers of patch repairs have been set on 140 routes in 6 districts under the Public Works Department, Ambikapur division, out of which 408 kilometers of patch repair work has been completed so far. Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Alang reviewed the meeting of the concerned officers on Thursday to speed up the patch repair and upgradation works of the roads maintained by various departments in the districts under the division. Taking serious note of the situation of non-completion of the new construction work of Ambikapur-Sitapur and Ambikapur-Pathalgaon NH, Commissioner Dr. Alang reprimanded the executive engineer and directed to give daily progress report and to make it accessible soon. He said that even after giving extension in the deadline several times, the pace is not coming. Bring progress in the work by giving extra time and keeping a close watch on the subordinates and the work of the contractor. He also instructed to repair the roads near the city on priority so that the people coming to the city and those leaving the city feel comfortable. Similarly, get the internal roads of the municipal corporation and civic bodies also repaired. While reviewing the culverts, he said that tenders should be done for the sanctioned works which have not been tendered and the incomplete works should be completed as soon as possible. He stressed on fulfilling the norms set by the state government and instructed to complete the departmental process during completion of road widening and other repair works. It was told that 923 crore 13 lakh has been approved for 95 works under CGRIDCL, out of which 11 works have been completed and 80 works are in progress. Similarly, in the budget of the financial year 2022-23, which includes 270 crore 62 lakh 34 thousand for 34 roads of 168.82 kilometer length.Continue Reading
