The Department of Forest and Climate Change has targeted to construct one biodiversity park in every district for the conservation and promotion of biodiversity in the state. Minister Mohammad Akbar said that the construction of biodiversity parks in the state will prove to be important in the successful implementation of the Narva, Garwa, Ghuruva, Bari program being run in Chhattisgarh as per the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. A biodiversity park is being constructed in 24 sites of the state in an area of about 5 thousand 700 hectares. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Rakesh Chaturvedi informed that the construction of 24 biodiversity parks in 20 forest divisions is in progress in two phases in the state with an amount of Rs 50 crore approved in the years 2018-19 and 2019-20. Among them, a biodiversity park is being constructed in 340 hectare area at an amount of Rs 5 crore 20 lakh in Van Mandal Bastar. Similarly, the construction of Biodiversity Park is under progress in 546 hectares at an amount of Rs 1 crore in Forest Division Sukma, Rs 2 crore in Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur and 433 hectares area in Forest Division Surguja at an amount of Rs 2 crore 50 lakh. 677 hectares in Raipur district for an amount of Rs 5 crore 50 lakhs, 86 hectares in Rajnandgaon amounting to Rs 2 crore 50 lakhs, 404 hectares in Kanker amounting to Rs 3 crore 50 lakhs and in Bilaspur amounting to Rs 2 crore 50 lakhs A biodiversity park is being constructed in an area of 280 hectares. Similarly, the construction of a biodiversity park in Balodabazar, Forest Division-wise, from Rs 3 crore to 562 hectare in Dhamtari, Rs 2 crore 50 lakh to 1000 hectare in Dhamtari, Rs 3 crore to 100 hectare in Raigad and 200 hectare area in Korba at an amount of Rs 2 crore.
