The geographical and cultural conditions of Bastar region are different from other districts of the state. There is a lack of awareness about the law and their rights among the women of this area, they themselves do not come forward and register complaints. In such a situation, identification of criminal cases and speedy action on them becomes a major responsibility of the District Police and Women and Child Development Department. State Women’s Commission Chairperson Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak said this during discussion on human trafficking prevention, other stakeholders and rehabilitation of victims in Sukma district. Taking suggestions from the district administration, public representatives, journalists, the Women’s Commission took information on various topics including women’s harassment and problems of women in the district. State Commission for Women reached Sukma today, Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, members Neeta Vishwakarma and Archana Upadhyay held a public hearing in the meeting room of the Joint District Office, Sukma. A case of mental harassment registered in the district was heard. In this, as a result of the absence of the applicant and staying in Raipur, the case was transferred to Raipur, in which the consent of the applicant was taken. Dr. Nayak said that Chief Minister Mahtari Nyay Rath is being implemented with the aim of making women aware of legal rights related to harassment, harassment, exploitation etc. Under the scheme, Mahtari Nyay Rath is going to the districts and making women aware through educational videos. Giving detailed information about the working process of the Women’s Commission, she said that the aim of the Women’s Commission is that mutual disputes should be resolved easily and expeditiously.
