On completion of 75th year of Constitution Day, commemoration will continue throughout the year.

Raipur, 23 November 2024/ A year-long commemoration will be organized from 26 November 2024 on the completion of 75th year of the Indian Constitution. This year-long commemoration will be conducted under the tagline of 'Our Constitution, Our Self-Respect'. This commemoration event will focus on the four pillars of the Constitution: Preamble, Know Your Constitution, Making of the Constitution and Pride of the Constitution. In the main program on Constitution Day on 26th November, the Preamble of the Constitution will be read by the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister along with all the ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries. Quiz, debate and speech competitions will be organized in schools and colleges on Constitution Day. Also, on this occasion, a 15-day Constitution Yatra will be taken out in Scheduled Caste and Tribe villages.

The program will be organized in a public place with a large number of people and in the said program a film made on the Constitution by the Government of India, Ministry of Culture will also be screened. In the program organized in Raipur, the role of distinguished people of the state in the making of the Constitution will be focused and an art exhibition related to the Constitution will be displayed. The Culture Department will be the nodal department for this program organized on Constitution Day and the information and photographs of all the proceedings conducted will be uploaded on the website of the Government of India.

On the occasion of Constitution Day, a 15-day Constitution Yatra will also be organized in the Panchayats. These yatras will be organized in villages with majority population of Scheduled Castes and Tribes. During the yatra, wherever there are statues of Baba Saheb, floral tributes will be offered to them. Gram Sabhas will also be organized in Gram Panchayats, in which the fundamental duties of the citizens under Article 51A of the Constitution will be read and explained. Also, living freedom fighters will be honored on this occasion. Special functions will be organized in the villages associated with the members of the Constituent Assembly, with special emphasis on the contribution of women members of the Constituent Assembly.

Along with this, quizzes will be organized in schools and colleges on the provisions of the Constitution, the process of constitution making, fundamental rights, duties and directive principles of state policy and latest amendments etc. Also debate seminars on rights and duties of citizens and other constitutional issues, with special focus on social empowerment, women empowerment, promotion of gender equality, making the Constitution flexible to meet challenges with time and latest and major amendments.
