Paddy procurement, which started from November 1 on the instructions of the state government, has now picked up pace. In the last 16 days so far, 13 thousand 293 farmers have sold 37 thousand 59.76 metric tonnes of paddy in 130 procurement centres. Out of which 7 thousand 103 farmers have sold the paddy of their entire area. Due to good rains in the district this year, there is moisture in the fields due to which there has been a slight delay in paddy harvesting. Still in the area, the arrival of paddy is more in the procurement centers of Simga and Bhatapara area than in development blocks Balodabazar, Kasdol and Palari. Along with the purchase of paddy, lifting through millers has also started. Out of the 37 thousand 59.76 metric tonnes of paddy procured so far, 12 thousand 905 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted. Along with this, two new procurement centers have been opened in the district. In which village Marrakona in Simga and village Mohtara Mohtara in Balodabazar are included. The farmers around both the villages are very happy, thus the number of procurement centers has increased from 152 to 154 in the district. The farmers who came to sell paddy in the procurement centers are extremely upset with the arrangements. There is no problem in selling paddy. Farmer Jhankar Sahu, who reached the Sakri paddy center, said that today he has sold 24 bags of thick paddy. Full co-operation is being received from the employees in the procurement centre. Adequate facilities are available in the procurement centers and there is no problem of any kind in selling paddy. It is noteworthy that the purchase of paddy is being continuously monitored by Collector Rajat Bansal. Under which detailed guidelines have been given to the concerned authorities. In which special care is being taken to ensure that no farmer faces any problem in paddy purchase. Today, 2141 farmers have got tokens deducted in 118 procurement centres.
