    Raipur. Raipur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Alang reviewed the health services in the division today. Dr. Alang directed to conduct death audit of the deaths of patients during treatment in all the district hospitals of the division including medical college hospitals. He said that this death audit will reveal systematic details of various stages of the patient’s treatment and will help in reducing the causes of death during treatment. He instructed the doctors to treat the patients seriously from a technical point of view.

    Dr. Alang also instructed the doctors to take all necessary measures to minimize infant mortality, maternal mortality as well as deaths of other patients during treatment. The Divisional Commissioner also asked to refer serious patients to big hospitals on time, so that they can get proper treatment on time and their lives can be saved. Deans of Mahasamund and Raipur Medical Colleges, Superintendents of Raipur and Mahasamund Government Hospitals, Executive Engineer of Medical Service Corporation, Incharge of Blood Bank and Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police also participated in this important meeting.

    In the meeting, Dr. Alang also took information about the arrangement of operation theaters in medical colleges, the operations being conducted along with surgical equipment and the availability of specialist surgeon doctors. He instructed to ensure necessary arrangements and adequate quantity of medicines, chemicals etc. to keep the operation theaters infection free. The Divisional Commissioner also asked to keep complete records of department-wise admission of patients in hospitals, institutional deliveries, normal and cesarean deliveries during day and night. Dr. Alang also directed to make efforts to increase institutional deliveries. He also took information about the approved and pending works related to hospitals, health centers including medicines and other institutional construction. Dr. Alang also instructed the officials to immediately inform the collectors of the concerned district by letter to resolve the reasons like land dispute, non-selection of site for construction work as soon as possible. The Divisional Commissioner instructed the officers to complete the construction work that has started for the expansion of medical infrastructure with full quality within the stipulated time frame.

    Arrangement of green corridor will be available on one phone call

    In the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner also took information from the traffic police officials about the preparations for making a green corridor if needed. Deputy Superintendent of Traffic Police said that any needy person or hospital can avail the facility of Green Corridor on a phone call. The district administration and police administration are always alert and ready for the treatment of serious patients and transportation of organs for transplant. Eight dedicated highway patrolling teams are always deployed from Durg to Raipur. Deputy Superintendent of Police said that in the last one year, the administration has created green corridors 57 times and transported serious patients for treatment and organs for transplant to patients in other cities before the stipulated time. He said that if necessary, a person or a hospital can call the Police Control Room phone number 94791-91099 and Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic’s official number 94791-91018 to demand the construction of a green corridor.
