New Government New Initiative: Chhattisgarh 36 Months

Looking at the developed countries, it is known that the contribution of men in the development participation there is as much as the contribution of women there. Women of these countries are playing an equal role in their economy. For the progress of the country and the state, it is necessary to advance women in every field, so it is necessary to make women aware of their rights along with giving them the necessary environment and facilities for their development. The new government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has taken an initiative to provide a safe environment for women in the state to play their effective role in every field and prepare an integrated plan for women’s safety. In this plan, an initiative is being taken to provide necessary assistance in coordination with various departments on all matters related to the interests and safety of women. Modern information technology and social media will also be used by the Chhattisgarh government in the integrated plan related to women’s safety so that assistance can be provided on various issues related to women’s safety. In this plan, arrangements will also be made to take help of social media platforms like Twitter, WhatsApp. There is also a plan to start a system of mobile based multiple apps to provide assistance to women in critical situations. Police administration is also being sensitized for prevention of crimes against women. Special training is being given to the police to control crimes against women. Along with coordination between the police administration and the departments related to the welfare and development of women, a strategy will be made for speedy action on criminal cases. Establishment of women police stations for prevention of women crimes in Chhattisgarh as well as special cyber to curb cyber crimes. Police stations have also been established. To control crimes against women, the facility of dialing the Sabbo Bar Ecke number 112 has been given. At present, Sakhi Forest Staff Centers have been started in all the districts to provide various types of assistance to the women victims of social crimes. The country’s first Sakhi Forest Staff Center was started in the capital Raipur. Toll free number 181 is being operated by the Department of Women and Child Development to help women in distress. Women can take help of helpline number 181 in case of any kind of incident, harassment or crisis inside or outside the house. Any other person on behalf of a woman can also call the number 181 for help. Women victims of domestic violence can also call for help. Considering the seriousness of the matter, legal advice, health and housing assistance is provided here. Help can also be taken from Women Helpline-181 through WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, email and website. Apart from this, for the safety of women in the cities of the state, pink patrol teams have been constituted in the city, which includes a total of 152 women police of Raipur police, who go to different police station areas to make women aware under the said campaign. Efforts are being made by the state government to not only provide a fear-free environment to the women, but steps are being taken for their all-round development. Women Self Help Groups have been added to prepare vermi compost in the Gauthans being built under the Suraji Gaon Yojana. Along with this, through the National Livelihood Mission, different types of products are being prepared, due to which they are getting self-reliance. To improve the health and nutritional status of women and children, several schemes like Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana have been launched. Under the Chhattisgarh Food Security Act, ration cards are being made in the name of the female head of the family. Along with the arrangement of pension for the widows of 18 to 50 years, houses are being given in the name of women head in the housing scheme of the state government. One percent exemption is being given in the registry of land housing in the name of women. Steps have been taken to provide free education up to college level to women, loans and grants at low interest rates for self-employment. For participation in development administration, women have been given 50 percent reservation in panchayat and urban bodies and 33 percent in government services. Similarly, various facilities are being given to them in the field of industry and trade.
