Naxal incidents decreased by 56 percent and 196 villages without electricity in Bastar division were illuminated in the last four years – Lok Shakti.in

In the last four years, 103 villages in Bijapur district of Bastar division, 61 villages in Sukma district, 12 in Bastar district, 11 in Dantewada district, 05 in Kanker, 03 in Kondagaon and 01 village in Narayanpur were electrified. Kolaiguda, Kamarguda, Nagalgunda, and Karigundam were once notorious villages for Naxal activities. Where the access of the administration was difficult, as a result the village remained far away from development. Today, police and security forces have chased away the Naxal group, making the formula of development, trust and security successful. The establishment of camps near villages and villages has directly strengthened the path of development along with security for the villagers and today electricity has also reached the village. Electrification work has been completed. In which 299 km 11 KV line, 252 km LT line and 122 transformers have been installed. Rs 2277 lakh has been spent for providing electricity. Due to electricity reaching these 61 villages, the darkness of the houses of about 5 thousand 158 families has been dispelled. Under the Mukhyamantri Majratola Vidyutikaran Yojana, electricity line connections have been made to 82 families of Kolaiguda as well as 160 in Karigundam, 120 in Kamarguda, 81 in Nagalgunda and 210 in Silger, due to which the villagers are enthusiastic. In the past, it was not possible to make electricity arrangements in these areas due to Naxal obstruction. But after the establishment of the security camp, electricity has been provided to the first camp and now to the village. Roadless areas are now being connected to the main road by construction of quality roads. While the speed of development has increased due to the construction of the road, the safety of the villagers has been ensured by the establishment of security camps.
