During the current financial year 2022-23, more than 01 crore 14 lakh saplings will be planted in the state by the Forest and Climate Change Department under various schemes. Along with this, a target of distribution of 01 crore 67 lakh saplings has also been set by the Forest Department during the current year. For the successful implementation of the tree plantation program in the state, at present more than 3 crore 12 lakh saplings are available in all the 257 nurseries of the Forest Department. For the proper implementation of tree plantation work in the state, he gave strict instructions to all the officers of the Forest Department to keep regular monitoring along with on-the-spot inspection. In these, all the DFOs were also directed to expedite the digging of pits for plantation and transportation of plants to the site as per the requirement. He said that for its successful implementation, the work should be started at the earliest to reach the plants prepared from nursery and fertilizers etc. at the identified places of plantation. During this, he also gave necessary instructions regarding the measures to protect the plants planted by the roadside. Instructing the State Forest Development Corporation to prepare a special action plan to promote inter-cropping including quality improvement in plantation, Forest Minister Shri Akbar reviewed the forest division wise plantation program in detail under various schemes like departmental and CAMPA in the meeting.
