Mineral Task Force meeting concluded, so far more than Rs 46 lakh 61 thousand has been recovered in 133 different cases

Under the chairmanship of Collector Rajat Bansal, a meeting of the district level task force constituted related to illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals was held in the auditorium of the Joint District Office. In the meeting, the prevention of illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals was discussed. In particular, to stop illegal mining, transportation and storage of mineral sand in the district, the Department of Minerals and Police has been directed to strictly follow it. Instructions have been given to take strict action against the vehicles found illegally excavating, transporting and storing mineral sand. Shri Bansal said that illegal mining and transportation of sand will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Similarly, if instructions have been given to the Forest Department for necessary investigation and action for the prevention of mining and transportation of minerals from forest areas. In the meeting, District Mineral Officer Kundan Kumar Banjare informed that against the financial target of 239 crore 96 lakh set by the state government in the district in the month of September 2022, information about 120 crore 46 lakh (50.17 per cent) has been given. Similarly, in the form of information about illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals, recovery of fine of Rs 20 lakh 81 thousand 305 in total 11 cases registered for illegal mining, 24 lakh 95 thousand 380 in 121 cases of illegal transportation. Along with the information about recovery of Rs 85 thousand 720 fine in 01 case of illegal storage and illegal storage, information was given about 62 percent achievement against the target set by the state government in this regard. According to the rules from October 15, keeping a close watch on the sand mines going to be operated in the district, along with instructions to take action, the Gram Panchayats where sand mines are proposed to be operated through contract. In the presence of the Sarpanch, Secretary, Chief Executive Officer of the concerned area, Sub-Divisional Officer (Ra) Balodabazar and Kasdol of those Gram Panchayats, instructions were given to ensure that sand mining operations are conducted as per rules by holding a meeting at the level of Deputy Director. In the said meeting, Additional Collector Rajendra Gupta, District Panchayat CEO Gopal Verma, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anup Bajpai, DFO KR.
