Meeting of Inter-Departmental Lead Agency (Road Safety): 

Keeping in view the prevention of road accidents and ensuring compliance of traffic rules in the state, a meeting of the concerned officers was held by Secretary Transport Mr. S. Prakash last day. Under the aegis of the Inter-Departmental Lead Agency (Road Safety), a detailed discussion was held regarding smooth traffic and traffic arrangements in the meeting organized at the Ministry (Mahanadi Bhawan) located in Nava Raipur. Along with this, NCC, NSS in the form of ‘Road Safety Mitan’. And an important decision was taken regarding taking the services of cadets and students of Bharat Scouts and Guides. Significantly, under this N.C.C. 25 thousand cadets of N.S.S. Benefit will be taken of the voluntary service of 01 lakh 03 thousand students and 3 lakh 25 thousand students of Bharat Scouts and Guides. In these seven accident-prone districts Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Durg, Korba, Janjgir-Champa as well as implementation of public awareness programs and cooperation in traffic arrangements in other districts as well as “Road Safety” to help the persons injured in road accidents. His services will be taken as “Mitan”. In this context, a virtual meeting of all concerned district level in-charge officers of the state will be held on November 18 at 3 pm. At the beginning of the meeting, under the guidance of Lead Agency President Mr. Sanjay Sharma, UNICEF and I.D.T.R. By making a power point presentation by the Minister, along with the data related to death and injuries due to road accidents in the state, its causes and measures were informed. During the meeting, Secretary, Bharat Scouts and Guide Raipur Mr. Kailash Soni presented the follow-up report of the road safety capen organized by about 1500 students in 23 districts of the state from October 1 to October 21 as per the decision taken in the previous meeting. , which was appreciated.
