Many Naxalites were injured in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. However, the Naxalites fled from there seeing the security forces overshadowed. The security personnel have seized the arrow and bow and other items from the spot. This encounter took place in the forests of Hiramagonda in the Gangalur region. Bijapur SP Kamal Lochan Kashyap has confirmed the encounter.
According to the information, the personnel of the District Police Force, Cobra 210 Battalion and CRPF 85 Battalion had jointly set out on anti-Naxal operations towards Hiramagonda. While returning from search, the Naxals ambushed in the forest on Tuesday morning. In response, the soldiers also fired. On seeing the soldiers falling heavily, the Naxalites escaped after saving their lives.
On the spot, the soldiers have recovered a large amount of daily use material along with an SBML, arrow and bow. At present, the search operation is going on in the area and not much information has been revealed yet. The situation will become more clear only after the soldiers return.
