Malaria free Chhattisgarh campaign started in inaccessible village Kotori

After the launch of Malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign in the district from June 15, the campaign is being run in the entire district at an accelerated pace. Under this, on Wednesday, on the instructions of Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena, the malaria survey team reached the unreachable village Kotori in Keshkal development block. Along with this team, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr TR Kunwar, District Program Manager Sonal Dhruv and Ayush Nodal Dr CB Verma along with health staff of Dhanora CHC also reached Kotori. Where the malaria check was done by the team to the villagers of the village from door to door, along with inspection was also done regarding water stagnation around the houses.

During this investigation, malaria was found positive in four people. All of them were given the first dose of malaria medicines at that time at the camp site itself. It may be known that in this village with population of 229, 68 people were found infected with malaria in the camp set up for malaria test last year. After which the health department is continuously organizing camps in this village.

Talking to the villagers in the camp, the CMHO said that the basic objective of this campaign is to stop the malaria parasites before they grow and to eliminate the parasites from the human body by treating the infected so that Chhattisgarh can get rid of malaria.

On this occasion, the District Program Manager and Ayush Nodal Officer instructed people to keep cleanliness around their homes, not to allow water to stagnate, to wear covered clothes to avoid mosquito bites and to sleep with mosquito nets at night. It was also told that it is necessary to stop the malaria parasites before they flourish and blood tests must be done if any symptoms are seen. Malaria test kits have been made available to all the institutions of the health department for malaria testing. Rural health workers will now go door to door every day to check for malaria.
