To make the state malaria-free, the Chhattisgarh government had decided to run a malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign in the entire state. Under which, under the direction of Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena, a malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign was started in the development block Kondagaon village Hiramadala on Tuesday. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. TR Kuwar, District Program Manager Sonal Dhruv, Block Medical Officer Dr. Suraj Rathore along with health workers, local Sarpanch, other public representatives of the village and villagers had reached to participate in this program.
During this, the Chief Medical and Health Officer advised the villagers to use mosquito nets to avoid malaria, prevent water logging, wear covered clothes in the evening, and immediately go to the nearest health center and get blood tests done. Asked to take medicines.
It is noteworthy that under this campaign, survey work will be done in all the identified 99 villages of the district till July 31 for the causes of malaria and efforts to prevent it. In this survey, along with blood test for malaria, maintenance of information in the register, marking the code number in the RD test, administering the first dose of medicine to the positive patient, nail marking etc. will be done.
In connection with the successful operation of Malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. TR Kuwar organized a meeting of all the Block Medical Officers, Development Block, Program Manager, BTEO before the start of the campaign. Guidelines have been given to complete the preparations and conduct the campaign. During this all the instructions of Kovid-19 will be followed.
It may be noted that prior to this campaign, malaria-free Bastar campaign was launched in the villages affected by malaria in the aspirational districts of Bastar division. Which had a wide impact. According to the API report released by the Government of India, an average of 5.21 people per thousand population used to suffer from malaria, in 5 years this number has come down to just 1.17. This campaign has also been praised by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and NITI Aayog.
