Located at an altitude of about 1085 meters above sea level and due to the isolated climate, Mainpat, which is called Shimla of Chhattisgarh, is now becoming a favorite hill station of tourists. Surrounded by hills and picturesque plains from all sides, Mainpat is full of natural beauty and is also a confluence of Tibetan and tribal culture. Here cultures are flourishing in harmony. Mainpat Mahotsav is organized every year to promote tourism and speed up development in Mainpat, in which cultural programs are presented by renowned artists of the country and glimpses of development are seen through departmental stalls. In order to develop Mainpat as a tourist destination, along with road development, efforts are being made by the administration to improve facilities and tourist points. Resorts and rest houses have also been built for the tourists to stay. From Ambikapur to Mainpat via Darima, as soon as the ghat starts, greenery is visible far and wide. On both sides of the winding road on the hill, tall trees and panoramic views are made. On reaching Mainpat, seeing the Buddhist temple, Tibetan, Lama gives a different feeling. This year the Mainpat festival is being organized by the district administration from 14 to 16 February near Ropakhar reservoir. Tiger Point has its own special importance in the important major tourist spots of Napat. Tiger Point is a beautiful natural waterfall in which the water falls so fast that it sounds like the roar of a lion. Tiger Point is a very good place to see, the cold here is also good and to see the waterfall falling from the mountain amidst dense forests all around is very attractive. Long ago there used to be lions in the Tiger Point scenic spot who used to come to drink water from the spring. That’s why this place was named Tiger Point. Tiger Point is also known as Echo Point.
