Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the 35th All India Chakradhar ceremony in Raigarh on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Monday. The Chief Minister worshiped Lord Ganesha at the ceremony and lit the traditional lamp in front of the portrait of Maharaj Chakradhar Singh.
While addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that though the Raja-Maharajas may have won many wars, Maharaja Chakradhar Singh of Raigarh has won the hearts of the people by preserving the rich and glorious culture of music, dance and art. Therefore, this all India festival of music, dance, art is organised in the name of Maharaj Chakradhar Singh.
A nationwide identity of the culture and heritage of Raigarh has been established through the Chakradhar ceremony, added CM. Mr. Baghel while congratulating and wishing people of Ganesh Chaturthi said that the well-known freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak had started the Ganesh Utsav to awaken the national consciousness among public and unite people during the freedom struggle.
This tradition continues even today. Public Ganesh Utsav has become the hallmark of our social harmony today. The Chief Minister said that for the preservation of Chhattisgarhi culture, the State Government is taking initiative to celebrate Chhattisgarh folk festivals with enthusiasm. This has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the public mind for its glorious Chhattisgarhi culture, folk art and folk festivals.

Mr. Baghel said that there will be no shortage of economic resources for development works. People say that the government does not have the money, but in reality the new government of the state after taking the charge waived off the farm loan of the farmers and bought paddy at the rate of Rs 2500 per quintal. In the coming time, rapid development works will be done. Recharge of river drains, construction of Gauthans along with roads, bridges and culverts will also be made.
He said that there will be no shortage of resources for the development of Raigarh city along with the state. The city will be developed according to the intention of the citizens of Raigarh. The Chief Minister felicitated Ghazal and playback singer Manhar Udas and the Kathak dancer Mrs Mahua Shankar who arrived here for performing at the inauguration ceremony. On this occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Umesh Patel, MLA Dharamjaigarh and Central Region Tribal Development Authority Chairman Mr. Laljit Singh Rathia, MLA Raigarh Prakash Naik, MLA Lailunga Chakradhar Singh Sidar, MLA Sarangarh Mrs Utari Ganpat Jangde, MLA Bhilai. Devendra Yadav, members of the royal family and local public representatives including large number of art lovers were present.
