Chief Electoral Officer Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, while giving information about the first phase of elections to be held in Bastar, said that there are 196 sensitive polling stations, about the security of which the Election Commission is fully alert. At the same time, 300 companies have been deployed in entire Bastar. 60 thousand soldiers have been deployed since last one week.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that 11 candidates are contesting from Bastar seat, for whom voters will vote in 1961 polling stations. There are a total of 14 lakh 72 thousand 207 voters in Bastar Lok Sabha. Voting will be held from 7 am to 3 pm in 6 assemblies falling under the Lok Sabha constituency, while in Bastar and Jagdalpur, voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm. Web casting will be done in 800 polling stations.
