Raipur. The issue of irregularities under Marwahi Forest Division was raised in the House. In response to the question of Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that this entire matter has come to our notice. Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant raising the issue said that in the written reply it has been said that 72 cases are pending for investigation. There is an allegation of irregularities of about Rs 40 crore. Who is this kindness for? Is it for the old Chief Minister?, is it for the new Chief Minister?, or is it for someone else? Mahant said that only six complaints were discussed in 2020. Then it was said that the investigation would be done in 15 days. The officers of the department are responsible in this matter. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that 79 cases were reported. Investigation is under process in 7 cases. Investigation in the remaining 72 cases will be done within the coming six months. 35 officers have been found guilty in 7 cases. BJP MLA Dharamjit Singh said that this is a very sensitive matter. Marwahi was the only forest division where Ranger and SDO were sitting on the post of DFO. This is such a big matter that one will have to go to Dubai for investigation. The investigation will have to be detailed like ED.
