Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has made several announcements including making Lal Bahadur Nagar a Nagar Panchayat. In the meet-and-greet program, people got information about the benefits being received from the implementation of government programs. He started the meeting and meeting program at village Lal Bahadur Nagar in Rajnandgaon district today by offering prayers at Hanuman temple and Sai temple and lighting the lamp on the picture of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. On reaching the Chief Minister’s meeting-meeting program, people honored him by wearing Khumri. During the discussion with the villagers in the meeting program, the Chief Minister made Lal Bahadur Nagar a Nagar Panchayat on the demand of people, starting Swami Atmanand English Medium School, upgradation of High School in Aliwara to Higher Secondary School and Farmer Facilitation Center, Mangikhuta Reservoir Construction, Announced administrative approval of Jamari diversion number 2 and construction of Pinkapar bridge from village Mateksa. On this occasion, he distributed motorized cycle, tricycle, nutrition kit, sewing machine, gas cylinder, seed kit etc. to 77 beneficiaries of various departmental schemes. Talking to the villagers, the Chief Minister said that we make plans by sitting in the assembly. It is closely worked on in the secretariat and then implemented by the district administration. I have come to know whether these schemes are being implemented properly or not. He said that the state government was working in the interest of the farmers. First of all, it was decided to free the farmers from huge agricultural debt. For this, we got the farmers free from debt through the short term agricultural loan waiver scheme. The Chief Minister said that we have taken many decisions in the interest of the farmers, due to which the confidence of the farmers has increased. Young people are also taking interest in agriculture. The number of registered farmers and the area under cultivation have also increased. He said that Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has been started to provide farmers the right price for their produce. Apart from paddy, the support price of Kodo, Kutki has also been fixed, the benefit of which is being given to all the farmers. Farmers producing sugarcane are also getting good price. The Chief Minister said that for landless laborers also, work has been done to give money by making a plan. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, landless laborers are being given Rs 7,000 in a year. He said that people are getting ration easily from Universal PDS.
