Kudargarh Temple Shrine Included in ‘PRASAD Yojana’: Central Government to Provide Assistance for Development
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Attends Closing Ceremony of Kudargarh Festival
Raipur, April 4, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the Kudargarh Festival is a unique confluence of faith, devotion, and tradition. The state government is making planned efforts to promote tourism in the state. On the proposal of the state government, Kudargarh Temple Shrine, a major center of faith in this region, has been included in the Central Government’s ‘PRASAD Yojana’. This will help in the development of the area with assistance from the Central Government. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said this today while addressing the closing ceremony of the Kudargarh Festival organized on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri at Kudargarh Dham in Surajpur district.
Hospital to be Started in Kudargarh Dham
Chief Minister Shri Sai performed the ground-breaking ceremony of the ropeway to be built in Kudargarh Dham. This ropeway will be completed in two years. On this occasion, he made many important announcements for the development of Kudargarh Dham. He announced construction works worth a total of ₹1 crore 50 lakh, including ₹50-50 lakh for the construction of an administrative building and a well-equipped community building, and ₹50 lakh for the construction of stairs and drinking water arrangements at the Gadhwatiya Mata Temple. During this period, the contract papers for the construction of the ropeway were signed. In addition, the Chief Minister also announced the construction of a hospital in the Dham, which will provide better health facilities to the devotees and local people.
Ground-breaking/Inauguration of Works Worth More Than ₹105 Crore
Addressing the devotees, Chief Minister Shri Sai wished for the peace, prosperity, and happiness of the state from Mata Kudargarhi and extended his greetings to the devotees on Chaitra Navratri. On this occasion, he performed the ground-breaking and inauguration of 43 development works worth more than ₹105 crore. Chief Minister Shri Sai flagged off the Good Governance Rath for the Bhatgaon assembly constituency, which will publicize the state government’s schemes.
₹148 Crore Sanctioned for Bhoramdev Temple under Swadesh Darshan Yojana
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that religious tourism is being promoted in the state. On the proposal of the state government, the Government of India has approved ₹148 crore under the Swadesh Darshan Yojana for the development of the famous Bhoramdev Temple of Chhattisgarh. A plan has been made on the lines of Char Dham for the development of the five Shaktipeeths of the state – Kudargarh of Surajpur, Chandrahasini of Chandrapur, Maa Mahamaya of Ratanpur, Maa Bamleshwari of Dongargarh, and Maa Danteshwari Shaktipeeth of Dantewada. The state government has restarted the Teerth Darshan Yojana. Under this scheme, senior citizens above 60 years of age, as well as widows, abandoned women, and disabled people will get the benefit of pilgrimage. He appealed to the eligible citizens to take full advantage of this scheme. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the Shri Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana, more than 22,000 devotees have visited Ramlala. He said that during the Kumbh in Prayagraj, a pavilion of Chhattisgarh was built, where free arrangements for accommodation and food were made for the devotees of Chhattisgarh.
Mentioning the efforts being made to make the state Naxal-free, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that inclusive development is being promoted along with rehabilitation schemes in Naxal-affected areas. Basic facilities like education, health, roads, electricity, and drinking water are being made available in the interior areas. People are being connected with employment. In the Bastar region, under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, along with basic facilities in Naxal-affected areas, villagers are being benefited from the schemes of the Central and State Governments. Programs like Bastar Olympics and Bastar Pundum have also been organized here.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, and MP Shri Chintamani Maharaj also addressed the gathering. They wished the present public Navratri and wished for the prosperity, peace, and progress of the state. Along with congratulating on the construction of the ropeway, they described it as a historic initiative.
