Joining Self Help Groups made the road to financial freedom easier

By joining Lakshmi Self Help Group under Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN) scheme, business thinking was awakened in the mind and by doing some business on her own, she got the direction to walk on the path of financial independence, says Mamta Devangan of Saragaon. Mamta Devangan of Saragaon under Janpad Panchayat Dharsiwa of Raipur district told that she was an ordinary housewife before joining the Self Help Group and she had to depend on her family members for her own expenses. He informed that by joining Chhattisgarh Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN), there was a positive change in all the members of the Self Help Group. The feeling of doing something in everyone’s mind and becoming self-reliant and getting financial freedom was awakened. Mamta told that she started sewing work, sewing training and selling sarees. He already knew sewing work. With the help of some money and family, he started Tanuja Saree Center and tailoring work, as well as he started giving sewing training to women. Mamta ji told that she is currently earning more than ten thousand rupees per month from tailoring training, sewing and selling women’s sarees, and efforts are also being made to increase livelihood by tailoring training to other women. Women could also climb the ladder of success by improving their standard of living. She told that her family consists of her husband and two children. Now having a good income, they are able to fulfill their children’s education and other family needs. Mamta told that rural women are now becoming financially capable by joining Self Help Groups.
