According to the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in the district, the work of collecting tendu leaves is being done at a rapid pace. Tendupatta, also known as Hara Sona. Every year, the villagers of the tribal region are waiting for it, because the tendu leaves have a good income, which helps in meeting the essential needs of the family. It is proving even more helpful during this corona crisis. In entire Narayanpur district including Chhattisgarh, Tendupatta collection is a main source of income for the forest dwellers here. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has increased tendu patta collection remuneration from Rs 2500 to Rs 4000 per standard bag to provide relief to tribals in tribal dominated districts of the state. With the availability of more than Rs. 1500 per standard bag, the life of the forest dwellers of these tribal areas has become easier. The tendupatta collector is now happy with the right pressure. The purchase of Tendupatta was certainly a difficult step in the time of the Corona transition, but the literal adherence to the rules made by Corona’s armor has made it even easier.
Government eradicated the lines of worry
At present, the tendu leaves were collected by the tribals in the Narayanpur district under the purchase of tendupatta, but the transition period of Corona seemed to draw lines of concern on the foreheads of these collectors. In the meantime, purchase centers were set up to purchase tendupatta at a fixed remuneration rate by the state government to free the collectors from worries. Corona infection was a matter of great concern at these procurement centers, but with administrative acumen, the advisory of the state government eased this difficulty. Due to the meaningful initiative of the officers and employees associated with the forest department, the measures to prevent corona infection at procurement centers were prominently implemented and followed. The Forest Officer, Mr. NR Khunte informed that at present 162 collection centers have been set up for purchasing tendupatta in the district. Narayanpur district has got the target of collecting 23100 standard bora tendupatta this year. As a result of this, around 14108 standard bags have been purchased. He informed that tendu leaves worth Rs 5 crore 64 lakh have been purchased in the district, for which payment is being taken.
Cash payment of tendu patta remuneration to tribals of Vananchal region
Collector Shri Dharmesh Kumar Sahu said that due to the current spread of Kovid infection by the state government, due to the danger of infection coming to the bank to the collectors, and due to the heterogeneous geographical conditions and resources of the district, the tendu leaf collectors of the district have been remunerated. It has been decided to pay cash. Cash is being paid as directed in the district.
