If the rules were relaxed, farmers started planting trees on private land in Surguja too.

Madhu Chaudhary, a beneficiary in the dedication of development works and Bhoomi-Poojan program in Surguja district, told Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel that he has decided to plant trees in 5 acres this year. Madhu Choudhary said that earlier there was hesitation in the mind about strict rules for felling of trees on private land, which has now gone away with the relaxation of the rules. He said that after starting the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme, he has now decided to plant Papaya, Mehndi etc. For this, they are getting constant guidance from the Forest Department. The Chief Minister told them that Surguja is a very beautiful district, which needs to be kept green. People should be encouraged more and more for tree plantation.
The Chief Minister told them that no permission would be required from any department in future for felling of trees being planted on private land. Only information will need to be given. Shri Ramsunder Rajwade of Surguja told the Chief Minister that he has sold 188 quintals of paddy this year. He has received the first installment of Rs 30 thousand 690 under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Shri Ramsundar Rajwade informed that he has decided to plant sandalwood and mango trees in his field this year.
