Government officials-employees of Chhattisgarh voluntarily deposited more than 28.67 crores in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund

RAIPUR. Officers and employees of the Government of Chhattisgarh have voluntarily deposited more than Rs 28 crore 67 lakh in the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund for the control and prevention of corona virus (Kovid-19) and to help the people affected by it. 2 lakh 32 thousand 508 government servants of the state have contributed to this amount.
It is worth noting that due to the lock-down implemented in the state for the prevention of infection of Korana virus, all kinds of economic activities are closed. This has significantly reduced the income of the state. While more economic resources are needed to deal with epidemics like Corona. To deal with this state-wide crisis, the officer-employee unions of the state voluntarily submitted a memorandum of one day’s salary to the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
     In this regard, the Department of General Administration of the State Government has directed to make a coherent system for voluntary salary reduction. In view of this, the drawing and disbursing officers were immediately informed by the Finance Department by adding a new option of voluntary contribution to the e-payroll module. Thus far, more than Rs 28 crore 67 lakh has been collected from the voluntary contribution option given in e-payroll. 2 lakh 32 thousand 508 government servants of the state have contributed to this amount. According to the information received, Additional Chief Secretary Finance has transferred the amount of Rs 28 crore 67 lakh 67 thousand 348 to the Chief Minister’s aid fund on 18 April 2020 and informed the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel thanked all the officers and employees for their voluntary cooperation in this hour of crisis, and it is expected from all that there will be continuous support from everyone in this battle against Corona.
