Gauthan will be the basis for the empowerment of Self Help Groups – Collector Shri Dhawade

The Gauthans built in the Gram Panchayats under the Suraji Gram Yojana are becoming ideal places for the empowerment of the women of that village. Every effort is being made to strengthen it further. Collector Shyam Dhawade, along with District Panchayat CEO, Kunal Dudawat, visited village Ghughra of Sonhat development block to inspect the Gothan built under the ambitious scheme Suraji Gram Yojana of Panchayat Rural Development Department. While inspecting the Gauthan and Multiutility Center located in Ghughra, he interacted with the women of the Women Self Help Groups and inquired about their business in detail. Before this, he also inspected the site by climbing the tower of the Forest Department in Paharpara.
During Sonhat excursion, Collector Dhawade inspected the Gauthan located at Ghughra. Here he took information from the women of the group working in the multiutility center about their livelihood, economic benefits and the families of the women of the group. During this, the nodal officers of Gothan were also present along with the representatives of the Gram Panchayat. Sudeshwari, a member of the group, said that in the weekly haat market held in nearby gram panchayats, sales of 400 to 500 rupees are done. Collector Mr. Dhawade, encouraging the women of the group, asked the price of a pair of slippers and also paid its cash price to Sudeshwari by purchasing a pair of slippers of his own size. He said that the women of the group should work with full heart, all possible help would be given to make them financially capable. After this, Collector Mr. Dhawade talked to the women doing vermi filtering in Gothan. He also inspected the pasture adjoining Gauthan and inquired about the Napier Grass planted and its total production and sale. Talking to the local people about the availability of water in the pond near the Gauthan complex, he said that now after the treatment is done, it will have water throughout the year. During this, local public representatives and government officials were present along with the villagers.
