Raipur. At the police headquarters, Narcotics Inspector General of Police Ajay Yadav today took a virtual meeting of the nodal officers of the Anti Narcotics Task Force (AntF) of the districts. In this meeting, important instructions were given regarding the seizure of drug, arrest of criminals and action on illegal properties.
1329 cases registered, 49.37 crore drug seizure
IG Ajay Yadav said in the meeting that 1329 cases were registered in the year 2024, in which drugs including ganja (24631.3 kg), brown sugar (335.4 g), opium (1.36 kg) were seized, the total cost of which was estimated to be around Rs 49.37 crore. During this time 2149 accused were arrested, including foreign nationals. As of February 2025, 340 accused have been arrested in 192 cases.
Large action for the first time under safema
For the first time in the state, illegal assets worth Rs 5.56 crore were attached under Safema (Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act). Under the Pitt NDPS Act, a detention order was issued against 83 accused and sent to jail, while action is being taken to assign the vehicles seized in 211 cases.
Instructions to take action on illegal properties of drug traders
IG Yadav has given instructions to make financial investigation and end-to-end investigations in big seizure cases. More and more cases should be prepared and sent to the competent authority to seize the illegal assets of drug traders under Safema.
Digging campaign promoted
Nodal officers were instructed to inspect de-addiction centers and to promote “Manas Helpline” (Toll Free Number 1933) and “Drug-free Bharat Abhiyan”. ANTF officers of all the districts including CID ASP Pooja Aggarwal were present in the meeting.
