Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria reviewed the works of Urban Administration and Development Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. He has instructed the officers to complete the work of departmental schemes in time-limit. Dr. Dahria has asked the officials to do all the necessary works for the convenience of the citizens in the urban bodies before the rainy season as per the wishes of the Chief Minister. The work of cleaning the drains of the cities should be done so that there is no water logging in the cities. Similarly, before the water-borne diseases do not spread during the rainy season, effective control of diseases spread by bacteria including cleaning, chlorination of water sources should be done. Along with this, instructions have been given to the officers to make proper arrangements. During the visit of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to the districts, he directed the officers to take prompt action on the announcements made under the Urban Administration and Development Department and the applications given by the people. While reviewing the departmental work, Dr. Dahria has instructed the officers to work sensitively for health check-up of patients and distribution of free medicines under the Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Slum Scheme under the department. Giving information about the Chief Minister’s Urban Health Slum Scheme, the departmental officials said that the poor, needy people in the slum areas of the cities are being treated through 120 mobile medical units in the urban bodies of the state. About 22 lakh people have been treated through mobile medical units and free medicines have been given to more than 17 lakh patients. Various pathology tests and other tests have been done for about 4.5 lakh people. Similarly, more than 13 lakh 77 thousand people have been given a discount of more than 50 percent on MRP through about 178 Shree Dhanwantri generic medical stores in the state. With the introduction of this scheme, consumers have saved more than Rs.25 crores. Herbal products are also being sold from Dhanwantri stores. With the availability of affordable medicines to the consumers, it is possible to treat the patients faster. Various essential services are being provided by the Urban Administration Department to the citizens through the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana at their homes. Now people’s caste certificate, original residence, income, birth, marriage and other necessary certificates are being made available at home. Under the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana, 1200 people have been provided the benefit of various services at their homes. In the meeting, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Dahria, while reviewing the progress of e-governance project and directed to work sensitively. Departmental works related to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, AMRUT Mission, Urban Livelihood Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, Direct Building Permission, e-Governance, Nidan 1100, GIS based property tax survey, double entry accounting system and internal audit under State Urban Development Authority during departmental review. was reviewed in detail. Urban Administration Minister has given instructions to departmental officers to make recruitment, promotion and compassionate appointments on vacant posts. He has given instructions to the departmental officers to do plantation in cities under Harrier Chhattisgarh and to reserve land under Krishna Kunj scheme and prepare an action plan for tree plantation on a large scale during the rainy season.
