Due to lack of sufficient water in the anicut, there is a lot of difficulty in purifying the water from the filter. Even then the villagers are not getting pure water. Birgaon Mayor Ambika Yadu wrote a letter a week ago to the Raipur Collector and the Chief Minister regarding the demand for water.
However, no water has been released from the Gangrel dam yet. Officials of the Birgaon Municipal Corporation say that the problem of water shortage has come to the fore in January. It may be known that a total of one lakh 20 thousand people live in forty wards under the Municipal Corporation of Birgaon. At present, water is supplied through the pipeline by laying a pipeline in only 28 wards of Birgaon.
In the remaining wards, the corporation provides water from tanker and bore. However, this year at present the river does not have sufficient water, due to which it has become dirty. Garbage gets deposited in the filter plant to clean the dirty water, which often causes problems in the plant and the public is upset.
