Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar has emphasized on enhancing the quality of handicrafts through handicraft products of Chhattisgarh by providing better market and regular income to the handicraftsmen. He said that in order to increase the quality of the materials produced by the craftsmen in the state, better training should be arranged for the craftsmen, so that their art could be enhanced further.
The minister addressed a virtual review meeting of the officials of Chhattisgarh Handicrafts Development Board and Chhattisgarh Matikala Board at his residence office on Monday. Principal Secretary Dr. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi was present in the meeting. Chairman of Handicrafts Development Board Chandan Kashyap and village industries officers of the districts attended the review meeting through video conferencing. He further said that these products should be displayed better in the online platform. This will increase the demand of these craftsmen not only in the country but also abroad.
The Minister said that the online platform provided for the sale of craftsmen’s material should be made more effective and attractive. He said that through Matikala Board, the potters should be benefited through various schemes to provide livelihood and regular employment to them.
