Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Chhattisgarh has directed Chhattisgarh Mantralayin Karmachari Sangh (CMKS) to conduct the election of the CMKS following rules within 90 days. The Commerce and Industries Department set aside the order dated on January 17, 2018, passed by Registrar of Firms and Societies Chhattisgarh and suspension order of the CMKS election dated on September 20, 2017, passed by the Deputy Registrar. On complaints of the Mantralaya employees Devlal Bharati, Rajiv Ahire and K P Netam, General Administrative Department (GAD), Government of Chhattisgarh had written a letter to Registrar of Firms and Societies Chhattisgarh for extension of the election process of the CMKS. After that, the office of the Registrar of Firms and Societies postponed the election of the CMKS. It may be mentioned that complainants Devlal Bharati, Rajiv Ahire and K P Netam had alleged that the names of over 400 Mantralaya employees were missing from the voter list of the CMKS. It was said that major irregularities were reported in the voter list and the names of several Mantralaya employees were found missing from the voter list. Meanwhile, attached government employees at Mantralaya, contractual employees working at NIC and the employees were given the membership of the CMKS. In this case, CMKS President Kirtivardhan Upadhyay challenged the orders of the Registrar and the Deputy Registrar before the Appellant Authority of the Commerce and Industries Department. Special Secretary of the Commerce and Industries Department V K Chhablani, who was the appellant authority to hear the case on behalf of State Government, heard the case and the side of the petitioner and non-petitioners. Chhablani, who completes his loan basis tenure in Chhattisgarh government on January 19, pronounced the verdict in connection with the CMKS election dispute case and directed the CMKS to follow the bye-laws of the association and give opportunity to Mantralaya employees for taking membership. After completion of the membership drive, the list of the members of the CMKS shall be published. According to the bye-laws of the association, the elections of the CMKS shall be conducted within 90 days, the order maintained.
