Collector Yashwant Kumar on Saturday conducted a surprise inspection of the Paddy Procurement Center of Nagar Panchayat Kharod. The Collector said that instructions have been given to Food Officer, Co-operative Bank Nodal Officer and District Marketing Officers, including committee in-charge, for managing the security of paddy purchased on support price. Strict action will be taken against those who are negligent in protecting the paddy.
The collector said that instructions have been given to cover the stacked paddy with double layer triploid. This helped protect paddy from sun and rain. Apart from the top of the steak, it is also necessary to cover the paddy from all four sides. This also kept the paddy kept sideways in the steak. Yashwant Kumar said that such procurement centers where platforms are not built should make proper arrangements for drainage. Paddy has to be protected from sun, rain and damage from mice. He said that in case of negligence in any procurement center, disciplinary action will be taken against the responsible officer of the district level including the committee in-charge.
