Joint Director Veterinary Services Raipur Dr. Devendra Netam said that bird flu disease is a serious and deadly disease of birds, causing great harm to backyard poultry and poultry businesses. There is a need to be vigilant in the winter season to prevent the entry of bird flu disease from across the state and to prevent abnormal disease and death in birds. He said that migratory birds are important in terms of transmission of bird flu. Therefore, all the shelter sites of migratory birds of the district should be constantly monitored for abnormal deaths as well as make the list of migratory bird refuge sites available by the forest department to the office.
Similarly, all general information about the disease should be sent to the poultry birds in the district, banning the movement of outsiders, vehicles and other materials to private poultry farmers in their areas and sending unusual numbers of dead birds to the nearest veterinary hospital.
