Raipur. Maoism is like a cancer. If cancer is to be eradicated, it is necessary to attack its root. Maoists had stuck like leeches in some areas of Bastar and were exploiting the local people by intimidating them. These places were their safest havens. We decided to enter the Maoists’ den and attack them. With the indomitable courage of our security forces, we fought these Maoists and defeated them. In the last one year, our security forces have killed more than 230 Maoists in various encounters. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said these things while addressing the ceremony on the occasion of laying the foundation stone for the inauguration of development works at the Mini Stadium in Sukma district.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that the sacred land on which the holy feet of Lord Shri Ram touched. I respectfully congratulate that land. Maoist violence had engulfed Bastar division as well as Sukma district in the fire of violence. Due to this the development of Sukma district was badly affected. In one year, our government has taken many important decisions for the development of Sukma district and implemented them rapidly.
The Chief Minister said that today we have inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 137 works worth Rs 205 crore here. Chief Minister Sai said that as per a well-planned strategy, we expanded the camps in Maoist affected areas and expanded the security network. Now the Maoists are confined to a very limited area and are in panic. Due to this they are acting cowardly. The soldiers who were martyred in the incident of IED blast on the convoy of our soldiers by Maoists were the soil sons of Bastar. The Chief Minister said that today on this land of Sukma, we all take a pledge again that we will destroy Maoism from its roots. Will avenge the martyrdom of our martyred soldiers.
The Chief Minister said that along with providing security to the people through camps, we are also working for development. For this, we started Niyad Nella Naar Scheme for the development of villages falling within a radius of five kilometers of the camp, through which all basic facilities are being made available in these rural areas. The Maoists, who use the best weapons and new means of communication, have kept the rural areas in such a state of terror that people here stay away from even television. The Maoist commander’s village was lagging behind in terms of development for many years. People did not see electricity, did not see television. Now the former village is illuminated with solar light. People watched Doordarshan for the first time after 78 years of independence. It was like a miracle for the people. Village Salatong has got electricity after 78 years. With the advent of electricity, the light of development has also spread rapidly here. Now the children here will be able to study well. Will be able to join the main stream of development. To provide relief to the people for transportation, Hakum Mail is being run here. Due to these buses, people’s life has become easier. Reaching health centers has become easier. Through this scheme, for the first time, Aadhar cards, Ayushman cards and Kisan credit cards were also made for the people.
