Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Incentive Scheme implemented from June 01, for planting trees instead of paddy, you will get ten thousand rupees per annum

The Chief Minister Plantation Incentive Scheme has started from June 1 with an aim to encourage plantation of non-timber species on the land of private sector, farmers, government departments and gram panchayats and increase the income of farmers through tree plantation. Farmers will be given an incentive of ten thousand rupees per acre for planting trees, non-timber, fruit trees, bamboo and minor forest produce and medicinal plants in non-forest areas instead of paddy. Those farmers who have taken paddy crop in Kharif year 2020, if they plant trees in their fields instead of paddy crop, then they will be given incentive at the rate of ten thousand rupees per acre per year for the next three years. All the citizens of Chhattisgarh will be eligible as per the availability of private land and all Gram Panchayats and Joint Forest Management Committees will be eligible to take advantage of the scheme. Under the scheme, plantation of timber, fruit, bamboo, minor forest produce and medicinal plants can also be done on the land received from forest rights letter with the consent of the beneficiaries. To get the benefit of the scheme, it will be mandatory to register with the concerned forest area office within six months of planting. If commercial plantation is done with the amount available with Gram Panchayats and Joint Forest Management Committees, then in case of successful plantation after one year, the concerned Gram Panchayats and Joint Forest Management Committees will be given incentive amount of ten thousand rupees per acre from the government. .
Under the Chief Minister Plantation Incentive Scheme, farmers who have taken paddy crop in Kharif 2020 and have duly registered and sold paddy under the Minimum Support Price Scheme, by planting trees in their fields instead of paddy They will be given incentive at the rate of ten thousand rupees per acre per year for three years. In intercropping with the plantation done by the farmer, crops other than paddy can be taken. To get the benefits under the scheme, it will be mandatory for the farmers to register in the respective portal within the stipulated time. Unregistered farmers will not be eligible to get incentive amount under the scheme. The area registered by the Rural Agricultural Extension Officer and the designated officer will be verified by Girdawari. Suitable advice regarding selection of suitable species for plantation will be given to the farmers as per the requirement. Under the scheme, the fixed amount will be paid in the account of farmers through DBT at the rate of per acre.
