Chief Minister Shri Sai Launches Jharia Mobile App and Web Portal

Raipur, April 11, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today inaugurated the ‘Jharia’ Alkaline Water Bottling Plant in Pacheda, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The plant will be operated by the Sharda Self-Help Group of Pacheda, Abhanpur. On the occasion of the plant’s inauguration, Chief Minister Shri Sai interacted with the sisters of the group and inquired about the Alkaline Water Bottling Plant. On this occasion, he also tasted the alkaline drinking water from the plant and said that alkaline water is extremely beneficial for the body. Chief Minister Shri Sai described the operation of the packaged drinking water unit by the women of the Bihan group as an inspiring example of promoting women entrepreneurship.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also launched the Jharia Mobile App and Web Portal. This app will enable people to order alkaline drinking water online. It is noteworthy that this plant has been established with the joint cooperation of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority and National Rural Livelihood Mission ‘Bihan’. Ten women from the group are operating the plant. The Bihan team is providing continuous support in the direction of livelihood promotion by establishing technical guidance and coordination.

This plant is fully equipped with modern technology, in which all arrangements from processing to packaging have been ensured in accordance with high quality standards. Two laboratories equipped with the latest machines have also been established in the plant, which ensure continuous testing and control of water purity and alkaline levels. This plant will ensure easy availability of high quality alkaline water to the people of Raipur, Nava Raipur and surrounding areas.

With this plant, about 10 women of Bihan will be able to become self-reliant by connecting with continuous self-employment and they will get a strong opportunity to move towards the goal of ‘Lakhpati Didi’. Consumption of alkaline water balances the pH level of the body. Alkaline water improves hydration, controls weight, strengthens bones and naturally detoxifies the body. Along with this, it improves skin health and is also helpful in keeping the heart healthy.

The sisters of the group said that packaged drinking water from this plant will be supplied in 500 ml glass bottles. Supply of drinking water in glass bottles will reduce the use of plastic bottles, which will improve environmental balance and provide freedom from plastic-borne side effects. Also, it will be a concrete initiative towards developing Nava Raipur region as a ‘No Plastic Zone’. The supply of this packaged drinking water will be made to government and non-government institutions as per demand.

Smt. Poonam Barle, President of the group, informed Chief Minister Shri Sai that on the first day itself, she has received a demand for 200 bottles of packaged drinking water from the Indian Institute of Management Nava Raipur, which the women of the group are delivering themselves through e-rickshaws.

On this occasion, Finance Minister Shri O. P. Choudhary, Arang MLA Shri Khushwant Saheb, Industry Secretary Shri Rajat Kumar, NRDA Secretary Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA Chief Executive Officer Shri Saurabh Kumar, Collector Raipur Shri Gaurav Singh, Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Ravi Mittal and CEO Zilla Panchayat Shri Kumar Vishwaranjan were present.
