Chief Minister pays tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai on his birth anniversary on 28 January. Recalling the incomparable contribution of Lala Lajpat Rai to the freedom struggle, the Chief Minister said that Lala ji was one of the great heroes of independence, Lal-Bal-Pal, also known as Punjab Kesari. Lala ji was very popular due to his candor and unwavering patriotism. He did not even care for his life while fighting for independence. He sacrificed his life opposing the British rule. Lala ji had said ‘every stick lying on my body will act as a nail in the coffin of the British government’. Shri Baghel said that Lala ji’s sacrifice did not go in vain, Lala ji’s martyrdom gave a new direction to the freedom struggle.
