Chief Minister pays tribute to Barrister Thakur Chhedilal on his death anniversary

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to the freedom fighter Barrister Thakur Chhedilal on his death anniversary on 18th September. Recalling the contribution of Barrister Chhedilal, the Chief Minister said that Barrister Thakur Chhedilal has been instrumental in inculcating the feeling of nationalism among the youth and connecting them with the freedom movements. On the call of Mahatma Gandhi, he left advocacy and started strengthening the non-cooperation movement. To spread awareness in Bilaspur region, he made innovative use of National Ramayana from the stage of Ramlila. He organized the youth through ‘Seva Samiti’. He also played an important role in the Civil Disobedience Movement. The Chief Minister said that Thakur Chhedilal ji was rich in versatility. He was a well-versed writer, journalist, musician and hardworking leader with knowledge of many languages. He was also a member of the Constituent Assembly.
