Chief Minister inaugurated 23 new tehsils in the state

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated 23 new tehsils of the state at his residence office here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the formation of new tehsils will help improve revenue administration in the districts, speed up development works and provide better administrative facilities to the general public. Along with this, the farmers and the beneficiaries of the public benefit schemes will also get the benefit of better service and hard work. The Chief Minister also announced approval for construction of office building and one vehicle each for 23 new and 4 old tehsils at the inauguration ceremony.
The Chief Minister announced a total sanction of Rs 19 crore 20 lakh for construction of office building for 27 tehsils totaling 23 new and 4 old tehsils and a total of Rs 1 crore 75 lakh for arranging one vehicle each in all tehsil offices. Each tehsil office building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 71.12 lakh. Similarly, an amount of Rs 6 lakh 50 thousand has been sanctioned for purchasing vehicles.
These 23 new tehsils have been formed keeping in view the public convenience in 15 districts of the state. In the newly constituted tehsils, 2 new tehsils Kharora and Gobra Nawapara in Raipur district, 1 new tehsil Bhakhara in Dhamtari district, 2 new tehsil Bori and Bhilai-3 in Durg district, 1 new tehsil Gandai in Rajnandgaon district, 1 new tehsil Arjunda in Balod district, 3 new tehsils Sakri in Bilaspur district, 1 new tehsil Lalpur police station in Ratanpur and Belghana, Mungeli district, 3 new tehsils in Janjgir-Champa district Saragaon, Bamnidih and Baradhar, 2 new tehsil Darri in Korba district and 1 new tehsil in Hardibazar, Surguja Darima, 2 new tehsils Ramchandrapur and Samri in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, 1 new tehsil Kelhari in Koriya district, 1 new tehsil Latori in Surajpur district, 1 new tehsil Sanna in Jashpur district and 1 new tehsil Gadiras in Sukma district. With the notification of the formation of new tehsils, published in the Gazette today, on November 11, these tehsils have become effective.
In the inaugural program of new tehsils, Assembly Speaker Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Health Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev, Revenue Minister Shri Jaisingh Agrawal, Industries Minister Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, MP Mrs. Jyotsna Mahant, MLA Mr. Mohan Markam, Mr. Dhanendra Sahu, Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, Mrs. Rashmi Singh, Mrs. Anita Sharma, Mr. Girish Dewangan, President of Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation, State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Mr. Ram Gopal Agrawal, Chief Minister’s Advisor, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari and Mr. Vinod Verma were present.
The Chief Minister while addressing the program said that after the formation of the new government, on August 15, 2019, on the occasion of Independence Day, the Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi new district and 25 new tehsils were announced. The Gorella-Pendra-Marwahi district was formed on 10 February 2020 and development works worth over Rs 500 crore were approved there. Which gave a boost to the development works in the new district. Out of the 25 new tehsils announced, 23 new tehsils were launched simultaneously. The Chief Minister congratulated the residents of all new tehsils on the occasion. Chief Minister congratulated the people of Deepawali festival at the program and said that this time Diwali is being celebrated in the shadow of Corona Kovid-19 epidemic. It is important to follow precautions and safety measures to avoid corona infection along with festive occasions.
