The urge to reach new heights in life infuses new energy and enthusiasm in a person. The talent and passion of a person drives him to fulfill his dream. I also dream to make a name for my family on some big stage because of my talent. This is to say of Raghunath Nag, a differently-abled student studying in class 10 in the size institution of Sukma district. He recently represented the state of Chhattisgarh in the National Level Sabal Awards organized by Tata Steel Foundation in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand state to encourage the special talent of differently-abled children. Raghunath has proved his talent among the participants of 17 states and won the third prize. Raghunath is completely visually impaired but his spirit and style of living is inspiring. He has a wonderful singing talent, along with playing the harmonium, Raghunath created such a mix of notes by singing “Aisi Lagi Lagan…” that everyone was mesmerized. S congratulated Raghunath for this distinguished achievement and wished him all the best for his upcoming successes. Raghunath has been awarded a citation and a check of Rs 10,000 by the Sabal Foundation. I want to build my future with the help of music – Raghunath Nag, a resident of village Sonakukanar under Raghunath Sukma development block, is the fourth of five siblings. Raghunath, who was visually impaired since birth, saw the world with his mind’s eyes and it was full of colours. At the age of about 12, Raghunath’s father Shri Sonu Ram Nag got him enrolled in a district-sized institution, where children with disabilities are provided education with special care. Raghunath started seeing the world more colorful after coming to the Aakar Sanstha. In class VI, Raghunath was attracted to the music and he went on getting into it. Presently Raghunath is studying in class X and is a proficient singer as well as a good harmonium player. He is also learning dholak and tabla playing. He told that life seems easy in the confluence of notes, I never feel that I cannot see. Rather, he is happy that he makes this empty world tune in the tunes of his choice.
