Sudeep Upadhyay, Balrampur. A shocking incident has come to light from Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh. An elderly woman died after being burnt alive in her house in Piprahi village. It is being told that the woman was sleeping alone on a cot in her house when this incident happened due to fire. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigation by registering a case. This case is from Balrampur police station area.
65-year-old Pushpa Mandal, a resident of Santoshi Nagar Piprahi village under Balrampur police station, was sleeping alone in her house on Sunday night. Today, on Monday morning, when the villagers saw smoke coming out of the house, they broke the door and entered inside. There they saw that the body of the elderly woman was completely burnt and lying under the cot, after which the villagers immediately informed the police about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the body in their custody and sent it for postmortem. The police have started investigation by registering a case. According to the villagers, this incident happened when the woman was sleeping with a diya lit under the cot.
At present, the cause of the fire is not known. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem and the family members have been informed about the incident.
