A delegation of Cauvery River Farmer Protection Committee of Tamil Nadu state had reached Chhattisgarh to see the ground reality of implementation of farmer friendly policies and programs of Chhattisgarh Government. During the two-day stay of Chhattisgarh, this delegation visited many areas and met the farmers. Saw the status of implementation of Narva, Garuva, Ghurva and Bari programs of Suraji Gaon Yojna and also inspected sugarcane cultivation in Kawardha district including Multi Activity Center at Chherikhedi, Raipur. Delegation to the farmers of Tamil Nadu had a courtesy meeting at the residence office of Chhattisgarh Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey in Raipur late evening and discussed in detail the situation of agriculture in the state of Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, the delegation presented Tamil Nadu’s famous black rice and organic jaggery to Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey presented shawls and quince to all the representatives of the farmers’ delegation of Tamil Nadu and expressed happiness on their coming to Chhattisgarh. The Agriculture Minister said that Chhattisgarh State has made many innovations in the last three years to make agriculture prosperous and farmers happy. Many innovative schemes have been launched here. Chhattisgarh is a leading state in the country in terms of helping farmers to adopt crop productivity and crop diversification. The farmers here are getting the highest price of paddy and sugarcane. On this occasion, the Agriculture Minister gave detailed information about Chhattisgarh Government’s Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana and said that the objective of these schemes is to improve the economic condition of the villagers and farmers. Is. He said that the landless agricultural laborers of Chhattisgarh are being given financial assistance of Rs 7,000 per year, which is more than the amount received under PM Samman Nidhi. In view of the worrying situation of ground water level in Tamil Nadu, Agriculture Minister Shri Choubey suggested the delegation to adopt Narva Development Program of Chhattisgarh Government there. . Bharathidasan briefed about the state of agriculture in the state of Tamil Nadu and the efforts being made for the betterment of farmers in Chhattisgarh. The head of the farmers’ delegation, Mr. Sundar Vimal Nathan, informed that his delegation includes farmers’ representatives from different districts of Tamil Nadu, who mainly cultivate paddy and sugarcane. He said that the price per ton of sugarcane farmers are getting in Chhattisgarh is about Rs 6,000 more than that of Tamil Nadu. Shri Nathan said that his team has come on a visit to Chhattisgarh with the aim of knowing and understanding more benefits being received by the farmers in Chhattisgarh. Shri Nathan urged the Agriculture Minister to organize a National Conclave of Natural Farming in Chhattisgarh. He also talked about making the farmers aware about the use of ground water in agriculture. He said that due to uncontrolled exploitation and industrialization of ground water in the state of Tamil Nadu, the ground water level has gone down from 300 feet to 1000 feet, which is a matter of concern. Inspected the income-oriented activities conducted by women self-help groups at Adarsh Gauthan Navagaon (L) in development block, Multi Activity Center located at Chherikhedi. The delegation visited Kawardha district of the state and also inspected the sugarcane cultivation being done by the farmers there and Bhoramdev sugar factory.
