Lakshika Sahu, Raipur. Hundreds of employees of Chhattisgarh Income Tax Department demonstrated with their 8-point demands. On the call of the Central Headquarters, protests were held in the offices of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Principal Chief Director and Principal Income Tax Commissioner of the country from March 11 to March 13. During the demonstration at Raipur Income Tax Office, employees raised slogans.
The employees have requested the Department of Personnel and Training to discuss the recruitment rules of Income Tax employees and other issues and find a solution to their demands. They have also warned of a walkout from the offices after the lunch break on March 15 if their demands are not met.
These are the demands of the employees
The main demands of the Income Tax Department employees include regularization of daily wage earners, protection clause should be given in the recruitment rules of Office Superintendent and Stenographer Grade-1 as per the rules of DOPT, one time relaxation should be provided for promotion on vacant posts, inter-charge transfer should be started. This includes demotion from Senior Tax Assistant to Tax Assistant category.
