Chhattisgarh Government sanctions Rs 3.80 crore to aid labourers in crisis

Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board also sanctions funds for all the districts, on instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel Sanctioned funds to be utilized for providing food, shelter, medical support, transportation and other facilities for registered labourers in crisis or in need.

On instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, State Government’s Labour Department has sanctioned Rs 3 crore 80 lakh to aid labourers affected due to lockdown. This amount has been sanctioned by Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to all the districts of the state. 
Sanctioned funds will be utilized by Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for providing immediate help, including food, shelter, medical facility, transportation etc as per the requirement, to registered labourers, who are facing problems under the circumstances created due to corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Board has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh each to Assistant Labour Commissioners of Raipur, Baloda-Bazar, Bilaspur, Mahasamund, Korba, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bastar, Sarguja, Durg and Rajnandgaon districts. Likewise, Rs 10 lakh each has been sanctioned to concerned Labour officials in Gariband, Dhamtari, Mungeli, Kondagaon, Kanker, Dantewada, Sukma, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Surajpur, Balrampur, Koriya, Jashpur, Balod, Bemetara, and Kawardha district.
