Arvind Mishra, Balodabazar. Two people and 21 animals died due to lightning in the district today. These incidents took place in three different areas. The police have registered a case and started investigating the matter.
The first incident is from Chirpota village of Lavan police station area, where women who had gone to attend the Dashagatra program were sitting under a tamarind tree. During this time, Koliha resident Basanti Verma died due to lightning. Two other women suffered severe burns, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
The second incident took place in village Jara of Palari police station area, where 16 goats of cattle farmer Manharan Yadav died after being struck by lightning. The third incident took place in village Bachhera of Simga police station area, where Maniram Yadav and his five buffaloes died after being struck by lightning. Police has started investigation by registering a case on the report of all the cases.
